The Re-presentation project added new lighting and small power schemes into existing rooms to match the enhanced interpretive elements for parts of the Palace which were previously underutilised. This included creating a bunker room, darkroom and enhancing the billiard room.
Emergency lighting was incorporated into the scheme to ensure compliance with the British Standards. The fire alarm system was modified in places to suit the new layout and wireless devices were employed in areas where cabling would have been problematic within the listed building.
Congratulations to all the team at English Heritage Eltham Palace for being ‘Highly Commended’ for their permanent exhibition at the Museum & Heritage Awards 2016. BAILEYGOMM are proud to have been given the opportunity to again work on this historic Grade II* listed building.
The project has also won the Association for Heritage Interpretation Discover Award in the ‘Museums and historic properties/sites’ category.
