Our Directors accept their individual role in providing health
and safety leadership, recognise the role in engaging the active
participation of staff in improving health and safety, and ensure
that the business is kept informed of and alert to relevant
health and safety risk management issues.
We have our own Health & Safety Department, including CDM
Co-Ordinators ensuring that all staff receive adequate training
to perform their role within the company by:
- Identifying the skills and knowledge needed for people
to do their job in a safe and healthy way. Compare these against
people’s current skills and knowledge and identify the gaps.
- Look at risk assessments to see where information and/or
training have been identified as factors in controlling risks.
- Consult employees for their views.
- Maintaining CPD.
BAILEYGOMM's health and safety department also carries out
the following services to external organisations:
- CDM Coordinator (CDMC)
- Act as Health and Safety Advisor
- Production of Risk Assessments
- Production of Method Statements
- Carry out construction site audits
- Carry out workplace audits
Our CDM Co-ordinators are experienced and have detailed knowledge
of construction. Our staff have detailed knowledge of works
expected on site. We have other personnel who have knowledge
of specific activities.
Through projects from inception to completion BAILEYGOMM:
- Notify the Client of his duties and responsibilities.
- Undertaken design reviews.
- Carry out peer reviews.
- Risk assessments to reduce or eliminate:
- likelihood of harm
- potential severity of harm
- number of people exposed to harm
- frequency or duration of exposure to harm
- Information on residual risk is highlighted by notes on
drawings and other written information, plus suggested work
procedures and practices.
BAILEYGOMM were successful in winning Hertfordshire County
Council's business award for health and safety in 2004.
BAILEYGOMM have been involved with the Working Well Together
(WWT) scheme for over five years. As a company we utilise the
Construction Skills Certificate Scheme(CSCS) scheme on all of
our sites.
BAILEYGOMM has obtained accreditation for Health and Safety
under the SAFEcontractor scheme.
SAFEcontractor is an accreditation
scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors
and service providers. BAILEYGOMM are accredited under the following
areas of the scheme:
- Ability to Sub-contracting works
- Building Services Management
- CDM Coordinator
- Designer (CDM Compliant)
- Electrical Design Consultancy Engineer
- Mechanical Design Consultancy Engineer
- Principal / Mail Contractor
